This position is required to address the growing demand for billed, unbilled, certificates of medical necessity (CMN), and authorization accounts to ensure reimbursement.
Responsibilities:
- Obtain and verify demographic, clinical, financial, and insurance information during the pre-registration and financial clearance process for patients.
- Enter patient and guarantor information into registration and accounting systems.
- Conduct insurance eligibility and benefit verifications, manage referrals and authorizations, and provide financial education on designated accounts.
- Perform pre-registration and financial clearance activities for various patient types, including inpatient admissions, diagnostic outpatients, ambulatory surgery, and series accounts.
- Communicate frequently with patients, family members, guarantors, physicians, and office staff to support key activities.
- Notify patients/guarantors of financial liabilities, collect payments, or refer cases to Financial Counseling for further consultation.
- Enhance the patient experience through telephone-based interactions by demonstrating knowledge of IDR’s system and service offerings.
- Authenticate patient identity throughout all processes.
- Provide logistical and wayfinding information to patients.
- Perform revenue cycle tasks to ensure compliance and deliver exceptional customer service.
- Maintain knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local laws, as well as IDR policies and procedures, to uphold ethical and professional behavior.
