Position Description Function Of Position

• Performs rearrangement, alteration, construction, and maintenance activities on equipment.
  
  

Representative Duties And Responsibilities

• Requires ability to read and interpret all types of maintenance blueprints and specifications; use of shop mathematics to compute wire sizes.
• Works from engineering drawings, manufacturer’s wiring diagrams and work order instructions.
• Determines routing, location and method of installing wires, conduits, electrical equipment, fixtures and accessories.
• Examines malfunctioning equipment to determine if modifications/repairs are needed and performs them as required.
• Performs operational checkout of electrical systems and equipment to assure proper installation and operation.

Job Requirements*

Electrician – Maintenance

• must maintain the appropriate certifications where applicable.
• Must possess the degree of familiarization which is consistent with and considered usual and normal for the complexity of the work to be performed.
• Requires 4 years experience.
  
  

Essential Functions

UNUSUAL OR SPECIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION

• Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods.
• Must have sufficient mobility to work with hand tools, climb and work in difficult positions where necessary.
• Must have ability to carry light, medium and heavy parts or materials.
• Lift minimum of 50 pound load up from the ground frequently
• Walk for long periods of time per day
• Bend and stoop for long periods of time per day
• Work overhead with minimum 20 pound load
• Push and pull frequently throughout the day
• Walk up/down stairs frequently
• Stand for long periods of time per day
• Wear PPE gear six hours continuously (steel toe shoes, safety glasses, hard hat, gloves)
  
  

Description Of Work Environment

• Can involve inside or outside work depending on task with working conditions including dirt, noise, heat or cold, and occasionally wiring in barely accessible places.
  
  

EQUIPMENT AND MACHINES INVOLVED IN WORK TASKS

• Must be able to use precision measuring instruments such as voltmeter, ameter, megger, growler, electric power tools, etc.
• Must be able to maintain motors, circuits, generators, transformers, switches, controls, fixtures, etc.
  
  

CRITICALITY OF ATTENDANCE

• Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical.
• Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements when required.

Must be able to work in a team atmosphere.

• Must put forward a professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation.
• Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain appropriate certifications where such certifications are a requirement of the job.
• For jobs requiring operation of motor vehicles, must maintain a valid driver’s license.
