Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced Network Systems Administrator to monitor and maintain network and system infrastructure. In this role, you will be responsible for responding to alerts, DNS changes, troubleshooting errors, and supporting network and server infrastructure. You will also assist with software and hardware maintenance, repair, and incident resolution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor network systems and respond to alerts, DNS changes, and resolve errors.
- Use scripting (i.e., Python) to automate tasks and streamline processes.
- Configure and install network infrastructure components including routers, switches, firewalls, and access points.
- Configure and provision physical and virtual server components.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network and system incidents, including fiber or connectivity issues.
- Provide off-hour support on a rotating schedule.
- Manage change requests during maintenance windows for systems and network infrastructure.
- Ensure the monitoring infrastructure and automation tools are maintained and updated.
- Communicate incident status and technical issues effectively to stakeholders.
- Utilize ServiceNow for documenting requests, incidents, and tracking progress.
- Perform network and system audits, suggest improvements, and update documentation.
- Respond to customer service requests in a professional manner.
- Collaborate with IT staff to gather requirements, resolve incidents, and perform cross-functional tasks.
- Ensure network and system infrastructure is properly labeled and maintained.
- Make approved changes through change management procedures.
- Perform other duties as required.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Strong experience in network monitoring, incident resolution, and service management.
- Proficiency in scripting languages like Python and Perl.
- Experience with network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and access points.
- Ability to configure and provision servers (both physical and virtual).
- Technical troubleshooting expertise across Windows and Linux environments.
- Knowledge of Apple MAC OS and VMware environments.
- Experience with backup technologies, SAN technologies, and Microsoft Windows Server.
- Familiarity with Cisco Systems IOS, PowerShell scripting, and Command Line Interface (CLI).
- Strong workload prioritization and multitasking skills.
- Ability to communicate technical issues and solutions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to adapt and handle tasks in fast-paced environments.
Education:
- Associate degree or a combination of education and experience in Information Technology (IT) infrastructure, or related field.
- High School Diploma (or equivalent) is the minimum required educational qualification.
