PeerSource is currently recruiting for a Chief of Staff Consultant on a Contract basis. This role can be based remotely anywhere in the United States.

Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Chief of Staff to support the CIO of a Fortune 500 organization. This role requires a strong leader who can effectively manage executive communications, drive alignment across transformation initiatives, and navigate a highly dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will serve as the CIO’s right-hand, ensuring seamless communication, executive presence, and structured execution of high-impact projects.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a key advisor and strategic partner to the CIO, ensuring effective communication across teams and stakeholders.
  • Oversee messaging and positioning for major transformation initiatives, including company-wide mergers, technology shifts, and executive updates.
  • Own the CIO’s communication strategy, including town halls, leadership meetings, and executive reporting.
  • Act as a liaison between the CIO and other executives, ensuring alignment on priorities and clear, structured decision-making.
  • Identify gaps in communication and process inefficiencies, implementing improvements that enhance cross-functional collaboration.
  • Manage change within a fast-moving, complex environment, ensuring clarity and engagement across all levels of the organization.
  • Challenge and provide direct, constructive feedback to the CIO, acting as a trusted confidant and thought partner.
  • Lead strategic planning efforts, ensuring the CIO’s vision is effectively translated into actionable roadmaps.

Required Skills

  • 10+ years of experience in executive leadership roles, preferably as a Chief of Staff to a CIO, COO, or similar C-suite executive.
  • Expertise in executive communications, corporate messaging, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Strong background in change management, particularly within large-scale transformation programs.
  • Experience managing complex programs and navigating high-pressure, dynamic corporate environments.
  • Ability to influence senior executives and challenge leadership constructively.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and a strategic mindset.
  • Bachelor’s degree required (ideally in Communications or Business); advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience with mergers, enterprise-wide transformation, or IT leadership is highly desirable.
  • Ability to travel 20% of the time.
