Job Title: SolarWinds Subject Matter Expert (SME)
Location: Remote (50%-75% travel)

Duration: 6+ months

Location Conditions:

  • This position may require occasional travel and the ability to work flexible hours to meet project deadlines.
  • This position requires travel to customer sites CONUS and OCONUS 75% travel.

Job Summary:

The SolarWinds Subject Matter Expert (SME) will serve as the leading authority on SolarWinds solutions within the organization. This role involves providing expert guidance on the design, implementation, and optimization of SolarWinds monitoring systems, ensuring they meet strategic business objectives. The SME will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and enhance the organization's monitoring capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Guidance and Expertise:

  • Serve as the primary expert on SolarWinds products and solutions, providing strategic insights and recommendations.
  • Lead the design and architecture of SolarWinds monitoring solutions to align with business goals.

Advanced Troubleshooting and Optimization:

  • Oversee complex troubleshooting and resolution of SolarWinds-related issues, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
  • Continuously evaluate and optimize SolarWinds configurations for enhanced performance and efficiency.

Innovation and Development:

  • Identify opportunities for innovation and improvement within the SolarWinds environment.
  • Lead initiatives to integrate new SolarWinds features and capabilities into the organization's monitoring strategy.

Collaboration and Leadership:

  • Collaborate with IT leadership and other departments to ensure comprehensive monitoring strategies.
  • Mentor and train team members on advanced SolarWinds techniques and best practices.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of SolarWinds configurations, processes, and strategic plans.
  • Provide detailed reports and presentations to stakeholders on system performance and strategic initiatives.

Qualifications:

Experience:

  • Extensive experience as a SolarWinds Administrator/Engineer or in a similar expert role.
  • Proven track record of leading SolarWinds projects and initiatives.
  • Experience working in the government space, specifically with Department of Defense.

Skills:

  • Deep expertise in SolarWinds products and modules.
  • Strong leadership and strategic planning abilities.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills.

Certifications:

SolarWinds Certified Professional (SCP) or equivalent certifications are highly desirable.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with enterprise-scale monitoring solutions.
  • Familiarity with emerging monitoring technologies and trends.

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
