Job Summary:
The incoming Head of Procurement will be responsible for designing and executing the Procurement Strategy with a focus on Risk Management, overseeing and developing the procurement team, and driving cost-effective procurement processes and strategies to optimize the company's costs, deliver on productivity commitments and enable innovation objectives through the Supply Base.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Optimize, lead and help to develop a highly effective and engaged Procurement organization.
- Take on a leadership role in the company’s comprehensive risk management operation, including coverage, contracting and derivatives/hedging strategies.
- Lead the commodity reviews with a cross-functional steering committee that will ultimately approve coverage and hedging strategies.
- Identify and implement the systems and processes required of a best in class centralized procurement function.
- Develop and/or refine the vision, strategies and roadmap for the Procurement team.
- Build a best-in-class Procurement team by attracting, developing, and retaining top talent. Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement to achieve and maintain a competitive advantage.
- Work to eliminate supplier, material and specification complexity – jointly with other functions.
- Accountable for developing negotiation strategies and driving negotiations to achieve business goals and objectives; fostering supplier collaboration and continuous improvement to deliver value.
- Develop a robust Supplier Relationship Management capability, investing in key partnerships that will help drive optimized cost and service while mitigating risk.
- Develop strong relationships and collaborate closely with business unit leaders, and other functions such as R&D, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Logistics and Finance to drive cross-functional projects related to innovation, renovation and productivity.
- As a member of the Operations team, contribute to the development and implementation of the overall supply chain strategy.
- Develop regular cadence of reporting to leadership. Ensure that relevant stakeholders have access to reliable and relevant financial information with regards to category sourcing, procurement performance, key risks, spend analytics and savings opportunities.

- Education & Experience
- Undergraduate degree required .
- A minimum of 10+ years of procurement leadership experience in a food manufacturing space with knowledge and understanding of industry standards.
- Meaningful experience in commodities, risk management (derivatives and hedging). Substantial experience in Soybean Oil commodity management and strategy is strongly preferred.
- Results driven leader with experience in risk management, strategic sourcing, category strategy, vendor economics, supplier management/innovation and total cost of ownership across direct (including External Manufacturing) and indirect areas of spend.
- Strong understanding of broader supply chain processes with ability to work closely across the E2E supply chain.
- Strong ability to develop and implement strategic plans that align with company-wide objectives. Experience in translating business strategies into actionable procurement strategies that drive competitiveness, innovation, and sustainability.
- Exceptional leadership skills with a focus on building, mentoring, and retaining high-performing teams.
