Senior Accountant

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance team. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for supporting the financial and accounting operations of the company, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and contributing to the financial reporting and analysis processes. This role requires strong technical accounting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform general accounting functions, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
• Assist in preparing financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Support accounts payable and receivable functions, including invoice processing, payment approvals, and collections follow-ups.
• Oversee project accounting to track costs, revenues, and profitability across projects, and manage lease accounting processes to ensure accurate tracking and reporting of lease agreements.
• Track and manage property taxes, ensuring timely payments and accurate reporting.
• Monitor and track interconnection payments, ensuring compliance with agreements and financial schedules.
• Participate in annual audits, providing documentation and liaising with auditors as needed.
• Support ERP system implementations and ensure seamless integration with accounting workflows.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost-saving measures.
• Maintain and improve internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with policies.
• Collaborate with operations and project teams to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
• Stay updated on industry regulations and best practices in accounting and finance.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in renewable energy
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
• Experience with accounting software and proficiency in Microsoft Excel; ERP experience is a plus.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
