Job Title: Juniper Resident Engineer

Job Summary:

A major network infrastructure upgrade project is underway, transitioning to a 400G network with multiple teams, vendors, and phases. This mission-critical environment requires minimal disruption during the migration process. We are seeking a Juniper Resident Engineer to provide on-site expertise at least three days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) and be available for night work during maintenance periods.

The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience with EVPN/MPLS, EVPN/VXLAN, and Juniper MX, QFX, EX, and SRX routers, firewalls, and switches. Responsibilities include network deployment, configuration, implementation, testing, and migration in a high-stakes environment.

Key Expertise:

  • Installation, configuration, and management of EVPN/MPLS with Paragon, EVPN/VXLAN with Apstra, and EVPN/MPLS network fabrics.
  • Network migration, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
  • Universal testing and validation of deployed network components.
  • Developing and executing Method of Procedure (MOP) for seamless network cutover.
  • Updating documentation, including IP address spreadsheets, inventory, and configuration reports.

Mandatory Requirements:

  • On-site availability (minimum 3 days per week: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday).
  • Willingness to work night shifts during maintenance windows.
  • Ability to execute network migration with minimal operational disruption.
  • Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills to collaborate with internal teams and vendors.
  • Professional references required to verify hands-on experience in all minimum qualifications, including:
    • EVPN/MPLS
    • EVPN/VXLAN
    • Juniper MX, QFX, EX, and SRX technologies
    • Network migration and troubleshooting

Project Deliverables:

  • Deployment & onboarding of Juniper MX10004, MX304, 7100, 4400, and QFX devices.
  • Testing, validation, and configuration to ensure network stability and security.
  • Universal testing across multiple sites for a successful migration.
  • Seamless network cutover execution with minimal operational impact.

Preferred Certifications:

  • JNCIE or JNCIP (Strongly Preferred).
  • Juniper Paragon Certification (Preferred).
