Job Title: Lead/Senior Engineer
Location: Bay Area CA (Remote)
Position Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Lead/Senior Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will apply software engineering techniques and industry best practices to solve business problems. This role involves analysis, design, documentation, testing, and maintenance of moderately complex applications and systems. You will collaborate with Business Analysts and Developers to design, test, and maintain flexible fulfillment e-commerce applications and systems, specifically related to IBM Sterling Order Management.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in formal design sessions with both onsite and offshore teams.
- Engage in development activities related to IBM Sterling Commerce Order Management configuration and customization.
- Participate in the on-call rotation for production support.
- Lead and participate in systems development, configuration, and performance tuning.
- Adopt best practices and coding standards and perform code reviews.
- Provide detailed weekly task reports to the reporting manager.
- Engage in development activities related to Spring Boot and other Java-related technologies (good to have).
- Ensure quality and on-time delivery of committed deliverables.
- Be flexible in working under changing and uncertain work schedules.
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Must Have:
- Deep understanding of Sterling OMS functions, including Sourcing & Scheduling, Inventory, Payments, SDF, Custom APIs, and SOM.
- Cloud experience, especially with Sterling containerization in a public cloud like AWS or Google Cloud Platform. OMOC experience is also acceptable.
- Knowledge of the Sterling build and deployment process.
- Hands-on coding experience using Java.
Qualifications:
- BS or MS in Computer Science, Information Systems, IT, or a related field.
- 7+ years of Software Development experience with at least 5 years of recent development in Sterling Commerce version 10.
- Hands-on experience with the public cloud and containerized version of Sterling OMS.
- Clear understanding of the Sterling build and deployment process.
- Technology experience with B2C web commerce software and order fulfillment/distribution center systems is a plus.
- Experience working in an agile development environment is a plus.
- Performance tuning experience is a plus.
- Proven track record of delivery in applications with large volume, high availability enterprise applications.
