What you'll be doing in the role of a Payroll Administrator
The Payroll Administrator prepares, calculates, and monitors bi-weekly payroll for exempt and non-exempt employees, including reporting, journal entries, and related reconciliation. This position is also responsible for investigating and resolving state tax issues and state payroll laws and regulations. Supports general accounting functions such as journal entries and year-end audit preparation.

What you'll be doing in the role of a Payroll Administrator
The Payroll Administrator prepares, calculates, and monitors bi-weekly payroll for exempt and non-exempt employees, including reporting, journal entries, and related reconciliation. This position is also responsible for investigating and resolving state tax issues and state payroll laws and regulations. Supports general accounting functions such as journal entries and year-end audit preparation.
What You Will Bring To The Table
- Process bi-weekly payroll(s) using ADP Workforce Now for exempt and non-exempt employees. Payroll processing entries include but not limited to new hires, employee changes, terminations, leave, and PTO administration.
- Creates payroll and management reports utilizing reporting software tool from ADP payroll.
- Maintains control of company electronic payroll files, wage garnishment levy with strict confidentiality.
- Prepares payroll reporting for company financials including general accounting functions to the GL, time off/leave tracking and year-end audit preparation.
- Ability to analyze payroll and tax data and develop clear, concise resolutions. Audits and processes the annual W-2 wage reports.
- Investigates payroll tax issues, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Works with HR to investigate and summarize payroll laws and regulations for states that Komen operates within.
- Responsible for pulling and preparing audit schedules for 403B and financial audits.
- Responsible for working with the local and state tax agencies to set up new accounts as needed and research and resolve issues as they arise.
- Answer inquires through helpdesk ticketing system and provide service to all employees relating to payroll, PTO, and taxes with the ability to work under pressure and troubleshoot payroll related issues.
- Minimum of associate’s degree or Technical School Degree in Accounting as well as a minimum of 5 years’ experience. Experience may be substituted for some of the education experience
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and PeopleSoft.
- Proficient with Payroll Reporting.
- Ability to communicate effectively both oral and written; work independently; prioritize work and meet deadlines.
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP)
- ADP Payroll
- ADP Smart Compliance
- Strong understanding of state taxes
- Strong MS Excel experience

- Approximate salary $56,000 to $75,000, exact compensation ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job level, internal equity and budget. Exact salary offers will be determined by factors such as the candidate's skills, experience and geographic location.
