As Creative Director, you are a visionary design leader who can blend strategic thinking with hands-on execution. A collaborative teammate with a deep understanding of trends, embellishments and apparel design. You have a passion for creativity and are committed to staying on top of current and future trends in design and creative culture. You will report to the VP of Design. The following is a list of the key responsibilities for this position:

  • Oversee day-to-day creative operations, which includes but is not limited to:
    • Managing design teams (4 – 6 managers), workflows, and approvals to ensure timely execution of licensed product designs.
  • Lead creative direction which includes developing the visual identity for apparel collections.
  • Bring fresh, new, and elevated looks to our brands.
  • An ability to inspire and mentor creative designers while delivering designs in a timely manner to meet calendar deadlines.
  • Drives creative innovation.
  • Ability to lead and define the marketplace by channels of distribution.
  • Implements new trends, materials, and design processes to keep Company competitive.
  • Occasional travel to our factories, trend shows, Company showrooms and markets abroad, including but not limited to UK office.

Successful Applicant:

  • At least 10+ years’ professional experience in a creative design leadership role.
  • Expertise in all aspects of visual design.
  • Experience managing other creative designers as direct reports,
  • Ability to take calculated risks to lead the brand into new territories.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects at all times.
  • Ability to communicate this vision to all partners, fuel their energy and realize the vision.
  • Ability to lead and manage external/internal creative partners.
  • A positive mentality with proven ability to be flexible and adapt to changing business needs while maintaining creative quality.
  • Advanced curiosity and in-depth understanding of design culture and youth culture, current and past.
  • A trend-forward design portfolio that displays innovation, storytelling, and market-driven creativity.
  • Laser sharp focus to work quickly and efficiently under pressure.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Understanding of product development in terms of building garments to achieve price points and internal margin goals.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Experience in children’s and men’s knit activewear and sportswear.
  • Operates with a prominent level of ethics, honesty and personal integrity.
  • Experience with PLM software a plus.
  • Experience working for any major apparel/sportswear brands a plus.

Salary $150,000-$200,000
