DESCRIPTION OF ROLE: This position is contingent on award notification.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Authors feature and straight news writing products and provides editorial support directed to a wide range of audiences; including: Members of Congress, Department of Defense (DOD), industry stakeholders and the general public
- Products include but are not limited to: reports, fact sheets, press releases, website or social media and brochures.
- Consults with appropriate subject matter experts to ensure information is presented accurately
- Manage small and large- scale projects that contribute to a larger strategic communications plan
- Manage competing priorities under strict deadlines while maintaining a high level of attention to detail; experience to work effectively with NAVSEA's senior leaders in a high- profile and demanding office
- Synthesize complex ideas and initiatives into easily understood communications for a variety of audiences
Must Haves:
- Bachelor of Arts/Science degree in English or Communications or other related field
- Minimum of four (4) years of civilian or military experience in corporate communications
- Experience with writing and editing news copy (articles, social media posts, et cetera) according to Navy and Associated Press Stylebook
- Experience with NAVSEA, Congress, the Navy and Department of Defense
