JOB TITLE: Information Technology Support
REPORTS TO: Information Technology Director
FLSA STATUS: NON-EXEMPT
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Install and upgrade workstations, loading all necessary software
Relocate computer equipment as necessary, connecting and setting up hardware
Monitoring and maintaining technology for maximum access
Installing and maintaining passwords and advising staff about any security breaches such as a change in password
Monitoring security and ensuring that lock out programs are installed
Troubleshoot all issues in a timely manner by prioritizing work orders make recommendations about purchase of resources
Ensure hardware is stripped before disposal
Diagnose and repair equipment, including printers, terminals, and personal computers
Service equipment according to established preventative maintenance schedule
Maintain an updated inventory of software, hardware and resources
Maintain a professional relationship with colleagues, students, parents, and community members
Use effective communication skills to present information accurately and clearly
Attend trainings as required to stay current on IT developments and software
Attend and participate in faculty meetings and serve on staff committees as required
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field preferred,
or High school diploma or G.E.D. may be accepted combined with verifiable skills and abilities;
Experience in installing, maintaining, and repairing computers and peripherals
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS)
or A+: Certified Computer Technician preferred
Valid Texas driver’s license
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of computer workstation setup
Knowledge of computer hardware and software applications
Ability to install and maintain network cables and hardware
Ability to diagnose problems and perform repairs
Ability to perform tasks and prioritize in high pressure environments
Experience in hands-on hardware trouble shooting
Working technical knowledge of the latest operating systems, network protocols and standards
Ability to read all relevant documents, including OME guides, procedural documentation and technical manuals and understand them well
Ability to use peripheral accessories, components and other related tools
Ability to carry relevant research
Attention to detail
A good understanding of the district’s objectives
Good interpersonal and relationship building skills
Good customer service orientation
MENTAL AND PHYSICAL ABILITIES:
Ability to meet attendance requirements;
Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language effectively;
Duties performed typically in school settings to include classrooms, gymnasium, cafeteria; auditorium, and recreational areas;
Spends a lot of time sitting, which may lead to muscle strain; they are also required to lift computer equipment, materials and supplies
Must be prepared for interruptions as they manage several projects simultaneously; they may work in noisy and busy environments, they will need time, stress and organizational management skills.
Using computers for extended periods may lead to eyestrain and headaches and it may also be challenging to concentrate in a noisy and busy environment
Often deal with frustrated staff who require their service immediately, the work environment may be stressful
