Job Purpose

The Bookkeeper/Accounting Lead (the “Accountant”) will be responsible for all accounting functions at North Park Beer Co. The Accountant will report to the CFO and work closely with the CEO and department managers. They will be responsible for accounts payable; accounts receivable; month-end close; preparing recurring and non-recurring journal entries; bank and GL account reconciliation; cash and credit card receipts reconciliation; check runs; and other duties as assigned.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Review and file new sales invoices
  • Carryout all procedures related to accounts payable and accounts receivable (GL entries, review, track, collect/pay)
  • Deposit checks
  • Prepare weekly check run
  • Calculate and pay sales taxes
  • Review, reconcile and analyze bank accounts, credit card statements and other accounts and transactions in the general ledger
  • Review and reconcile taproom cash and credit card receipts
  • Execute month-end and year-end close procedures: Prepare required period-end journal entries, accruals and schedules as required to support accurate reporting of financial results
  • Suggest, implement, and document accounting processes, control procedures, and process improvements
  • Prepare information to be used by CPA for tax reporting
  • Assist with monthly and quarterly financial reporting as needed
  • Assist with sales analysis, financial analysis, planning and budgeting
  • Lead and assist with other special and ad-hoc projects as needed; drive projects to successful completion.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Accounting or Finance required with 2+ years of related experience
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, and/or Google Sheets and Docs
  • High proficiency in Quickbooks Online
  • Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment as well as independently
  • Demonstrated initiative, flexibility, strong organizational and multi-tasking skills, good judgment, sense of urgency and professionalism in dealing with confidential information
  • Strong work ethic - someone who is reliable, dependable, goes the extra mile, and has a sense of urgency
  • Ability to create detailed accounting and analytical reports, spreadsheets, and business correspondence
  • Ability to multi-task and work well under deadlines and fast changing priorities
  • Ability to maintain detailed, accurate records
  • Ability to work with a large volume of numbers accurately and efficiently
  • Good critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with importing/exporting data and data manipulation
  • Ability to maintain friendly demeanor and professional appearance while working under pressure.
  • Prior work experience in the bar/restaurant, brewery, winery, and/or retail industries a plus.
  • Working knowledge of beer and craft beer industry a plus.
  • Experience with POS system management reporting and the manipulation of POS data a plus.
