Lab Technician
- Read and interpret blueprints, charts, schematics, customer or industry specifications to test and troubleshoot lab equipment and modules.
- Perform circuit modifications, soldering rework, and test verification on circuit boards.
- Operate basic machine tools (Soldering iron, Drill Press, etc.), power tools, hand tools, and soldering.
- Create and modify wiring schematics and assembly drawings of electronic Modules.
- Contribute to equipment user guides, design manuals and design standards.
- Assist with the installation of measuring equipment (ex., EMC equipment), instrumentation, test equipment, spare parts, lab inventory, electrical components, etc .
- Perform electrical and EMC tests following the test plan instructions and using various electrical lab equipment (spectrum analyzer, ESD gun, environmental chamber, power supply, signal generator etc.)
- Document test results in computer generated test reports.
- Lead the maintenance of Engineering lab equipment to maintain good operational condition by performing routine maintenance or making minor repairs or adjustments.
- Lead the Engineering Lab 5S activities and electronic components/tools inventory.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts for perceived or validated nonconforming product.
- Download software onto circuit boards using programming tools as needed for testing and customer needs.
- Aid other mechanical, electrical, quality, and system Engineers in completing assigned tasks.
- Continue ongoing training, education, and seminars to increase technical knowledge and understanding of new technology, tests, equipment, communication and organizational skills.
- Travel as necessary to support external testing activities, customer plants, and suppliers' facilities.
- Write and follow up on purchase requisitions and/or work orders for outside testing, equipment maintenance repairs, logistics "shipping", and general lab items.
- Lead the build of Engineering Demos of new technology to show internal and external customers
- Carry out tasks as assigned by Manager.
