Traveling Alarm Technician

This is a travel position up to 75% of the time from your home location.

We are searching for motivated and dependable Alarm Technicians for service and specialized installation projects for the Miami and Orlando Fl area. Travel of 2-3 weeks at a time is normal unless otherwise specified. A company car is provided and you will work nights and day shifts as specified, so being comfortable with overnight shifts is a must.

Travel will be 5 -6 hours from your home with hotels and gas covered as well as a per diem each day.

Responsibilities

Installation, troubleshooting, and repair of cabling systems and equipment in various technologies

Running low voltage cabling in commercial buildings, including concrete wall drilling and conduit bending

Completing wiring, connections, and equipment installations to ensure customer satisfaction and contractual compliance

Installing, repairing, or upgrading fire alarm systems in accordance with building plans and electrical layouts

Mounting sensors at designated locations and ensuring proper wiring and connections

Testing newly installed systems to verify operational status

Collaborating with team leads and project managers to ensure timely completion of tasks

Conducting tests to ensure compliance with relevant codes and legal requirements

Troubleshooting new system installations to ensure functionality and compliance

Requirements For All Levels

Experience in field installations within security environments (Fire Alarm / Intrusion / Access Control)

Comfort with working at heights using lifts

Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and site maps

Experience with multiple Intrusion/Access system manufacturers is advantageous

Ability to assist in designing and planning technical solutions

Installation proficiency in fire alarm and burglar alarm systems (e.g., Bosch, Honeywell, Silent Knight, Kidde, EST, DMP, etc.)

Effective communication skills for interaction with project managers, customers, and technicians

Proficiency in troubleshooting and providing technical support both on-site and remotely

Strong customer relationship and communication skills, both verbal and written

Competence in using computers, laptops, and smartphones

Clean driving record and valid driver's license

Requirements For Lead Level

NICET 1-2 certification or higher

Valid state-required Physical Security or Life Safety licenses (e.g. FASA)

Compensation

$25-$45 per hour, depending on experience, certifications, and a successful interview
