Description

Seeking a motivated, second-year masters-level student desiring to further engage in their own learning process. This is an unpaid opportunity for students who are currently enrolled in a graduate-level program for social work, counseling or a related field, and have preferably completed a certified 40-hour domestic violence training. The intern will receive regular individual supervision while conducting developmental assessments and completing family psychosocial histories.

Internship Highlights

  • Conducts developmental assessments, completes family psychosocial histories, and provides family therapy, as well as individual therapy to children and adults, all under individual supervision.
  • Contributes thoughtful reflection to their own clinical work, presenting and responding to challenging and difficult clinical cases and issues.
  • Designs and implements at least one public education presentation for parents, community members or professionals who work with young children.
  • Participates in Casa Central Safe Start Coalition activities, including quarterly meetings, trainings and outreach activities.
  • Engages in other projects as coordinated with intern and VPI Program Director.
