Location: 100% Remote
Duration: 6+ Months
As a Business Architect for Enterprise Finance focused on business architecture, you'll be a key player in helping leaders bridge the gap between strategy and execution. You will build frameworks that simplify complex business areas and create shared view of what we do and how we deliver value to our customers. You will apply business architecture frameworks to inform strategy and define what changes are needed to successfully transform our business for the future. You'll collaborate and be a change agent that ensures Principal achieves our strategic growth objectives!
Who you will work with:
You will be the lead Business Architect for our Global Financial Resource area collaborating with finance executives including Chief Accounting Officers, Chief Financial Officers, product, agile teams, strategy & Finance IT partners to deliver outcomes supporting company strategies and finance transformation across Accounting, Actuarial, Finance, Tax, Treasury and Procurement.
Here are a few examples of the types of things you'll do:
- Own the creation, communication and usage of business architecture to inform strategy and define the actions needed to successfully transform the Finance business to achieve outcomes
- Provide expertise regarding how Financial Management technologies can be applied to support today s business capabilities, information and processes and strategic objectives of tomorrow
- Accountable for crafting, maintaining and ensuring usage of business perspectives such as capability maps, value streams and information maps; leverage business architecture to drive business decisions
- Educate others and apply our business architecture framework to enterprise and corporate business unit efforts.
- Work through ambiguous situations with flawless organizational navigation to deliver results.
- Deliver business value by collaborating with and influencing internal partners at all levels including but not limited to business partners, agile teams, strategy team and technology partners
- Contribute to the definition of enterprise architecture standards and encourage reusability, integration, and adaptability of Principal's process and technology assets within areas of responsibility (Financial Management).

- Background supporting financial management capabilities, strategic development, consulting, and/or business transformation preferred.
- Knowledgeable of enterprise wide finance functions (the business side of finance), technologies and value streams such Finance ERP, Source-to-Pay, Record-to-Report etc
- Strong strategic thinking, analytical, problem-solving and big picture/conceptual skills.
- Strong facilitation, interviewing, negotiation, relationship-building and collaboration skills.
- Familiar and understand connections between Enterprise Architecture domains including business, application, data and technology architecture
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and growth within architecture field (i.e., training, or architectural certifications such as Certified Business Architect)
- Excellent leadership, communication, planning and decision-making skills with a quick learning style.
- Creative capacity to craft, evolve and customize business architecture deliverables and to embrace and guide business and technology partners through change and complexity
- Knowledge of financial service products and systems and experience with business architecture concepts and standard methodologies preferred.
- Experience with technology, agile methodologies, and/or strategic planning processes preferred.
- Bachelor s degree or equivalent experience and 8+ years of experience of related work experience.
