Job Summary
The IT Business Analyst acts as the primary IT contact for all POET companies and plays a vital role in the planning and execution of information management system initiatives related to this area of the company’s operations. Primary responsibilities include evaluating existing processes in both the business and IT space and determining how they relate to a common delivery practice. We need someone who can take charge of a project and deliver results.

Primary responsibilities include evaluating existing processes in both the business and IT space and determining how they relate to a common delivery practice. We need someone who can take charge of a project and deliver results.
DURING A TYPICAL DAY
- Develop parameters for successful IT systems, oversee their operations and provide consultations on what kind of features or modifications would best serve the company’s strategic goals.
- Connect IT staff with company leadership, interpreting the stakeholders’ business goals into specific deliverables, then overseeing their technical development.
- Solve strategic problems essential to business success.
- Work closely with your business counterparts to identify IT solutions in business functional areas.
- Help businesses implement technology solutions in a cost-effective way.
- Build business relationships and a culture that excels at business value results.
- Assess Business Demand Maturity and Business Relationship Maturity.
- Apply communication techniques to clearly articulate real business value.
- Shape strategic agendas for optimum business value.
- Understand the implications of Lean/Agile methods that optimize business value-add.
- Collaborate with team members to understand organizational and operational challenges.
- Implement new IT solutions into the company from the initial idea to the project completion.
- Identify and document all business, technical, product and process needs/requirements.
- Identify the sources of requirements and understanding stakeholder roles.
- Help to define acceptance criteria for completion of the solution.
- Develop an understanding of how present and future business needs will impact the solution
- Control scope and client expectations

- High school diploma or equivalent required. Completed Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Technology or Science preferred.
- Minimum of 1-3 years of progressive analysis/systems experience.
- Excellent writing, speaking and presenting skills are crucial for working with all stakeholders.
- Foster a culture of safe behavior and environmental compliance at all times.
- Maintain a team environment at all times and champion POET in the community.
- Organizational and time management skills as well as the ability to adapt to change.
- Ability to be nimble in an ever-changing environment.
- Must have the ability to understand the team’s challenges and develop solutions.
- Ability to manage multiple projects from beginning to completion is important for all IT Business Analysts.
- Up to 5% travel will be part of the norm for this position to visit the bioprocessing facilities, meetings and site visits. At times overnight travel may be required.
- This position operates in an office environment working at a personal computer where you may sit or stand.
