The Instructional Designer of Learning and Development (L&D) is responsible for the design and development of training content for all firm groups and lines of business. The role reports to the L&D Manager and works with internal colleagues and Subject Matter Experts (SME’s) to create engaging and effective learning experiences that drive The Baldwin Group’s organizational goals.

Work with L&D colleagues, business leaders and internal SME’s to:

  • Create compelling instructional content that achieves learning objectives- including role specific onboarding curriculum development, systems training, and professional development training.
  • Conduct in depth training needs analysis for complex subject matter
  • Design and develop interactive and engaging eLearning solutions
  • Storyboard instructional graphics, scripting, the user interface, and the finished product
  • Provide exercises and activities that enhance the learning process
  • Create supporting material/media (audio, video, simulations, role plays, games etc.)
  • Devise modes of assessment, such as tests or quizzes, to measure the effectiveness of the course
  • Maintain project documentation and course folders
  • Align work with graphic branding guidelines for L&D team
  • Analyze and apply trends and best practices in learning technologies and instructional design


Job Requirements And Qualifications

  • Excellent e-learning course development skills (Articulate, Camtasia, Adobe Suite)
  • Proficient in video editing, including strong visual storytelling skills
  • Previous working experience in instructional design (ID 2-3 years, SR. ID 5-7 yrs)
  • Working knowledge of adult learning theories and instructional design models
  • Excellent stakeholder/ SME relationship management skills
  • Project Management skills
  • Ability to write effective copy, instructional text, audio and video scripts
  • Lesson and curriculum planning skills
  • Working knowledge of LMS


Preferred:

  • Knowledge of in Insurance industry
  • Knowledge of Workday Learning LMS
  • Experience with software/ systems training (example Salesforce)
  • Graphic Design skills
  • Animation skills
