The Microsoft Authenticator App team is hiring a Software Engineer II to join their team. Microsoft Authenticator is the premium credential available to work and personal accounts. The app is a mobile application that provides multi-factor authentication (MFA) and passwordless sign-in for Microsoft accounts and other online services. The team's mission is to make security easy and convenient for users, while protecting their identities and data from cyberattacks. We are a team of engineers, designers, and product managers who collaborate to develop and improve the Microsoft Authenticator app.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritizes livesite and performs on-call duties on a rotational basis to ensure product quality.
  • Partner with stakeholders (product managers, peer engineers), to design new features, leveraging data/telemetry to make decisions.
  • Write code that is extensible and maintainable. Applies coding patterns and best practices to write code.
  • Actively participates in code reviews to maintain high quality.
  • Create clear and articulated test plans and write automated test cases to ensure good feature test coverage.
  • Adopts best practices for safe deployment of features to customers and monitors health of feature.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 1+ years of professional experience developing iOS applications
Other Requirements

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check : This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred/Additional Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ year(s) technical engineering experience with iOS app development, and coding in Swift and/or Objective-C

Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $98,300 - $193,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $127,200 - $208,800 per year.
