- This position is eligible for OITS's hybrid work program. The candidate must work in the office three days a week. The supervisor and business needs will determine the hybrid schedule.
Compensation:
- Annual Salary: $60,000 - $65,000

The State of Kansas has consolidated its electronic mail, messaging, and collaboration environment currently into a single tenant using Microsoft s Office 365 solution.The Kansas Office of Information Technology Services is looking for a Cloud Collaboration Engineer that will serve as part of a technical team responsible for operations, and maintenance as well as change management planning and implementation of the statewide cloud-based messaging and collaboration system.Responsible for providing expert technical support for the state-wide cloud-based messaging and collaboration system along with security oversight of the environment and the accounts in the environment. The Engineer will communicate with Executive branch agencies daily in a tier three support structure for advanced troubleshooting and problem resolution of security and technical issues.
Essential Job Functions:
- Manage, administer, and maintain the Statewide Cloud Messaging and Collaboration Environment including electronic mail, message archiving, instant messaging, and collaboration environments.
- Aid in the possible migration of agencies outside the cabinet-level.
- Internal and external agency support for O365, PowerApps, exchange hybrid servers and AD federated services.
- Administer and manage on-prem systems including hardening procedures, updates, auditing of security logs.
- Maintain security and privacy of state data and ensure compliance to all appropriate security requirements, including Office 365 Compliance Center.
- Assure compliance with federal and state laws and regulations to preserve and produce messaging information for legal and open records purposes.
Minimum Requirements:
- Successful completion of 24 hours in computer science coursework or six months experience in system software programming and analysis. Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency.
- Must have proven, hands-on, experience in an IT discipline.
- Highly collaborative orientation, with analytical and organizational skills.
- Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills. Ability to communicate effectively to promote the benefits of the new system to technical and non-technical staff.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite programs is required. Understanding of multiple platforms including but not limited to AD, Exchange, and Office 365.
- Ability to obtain and retain an OITS and KCJIS Security Clearance is a requirement of initial and continued employment.
Preferred Requirements:
- Preference will be given to candidates with 4+ years as an Exchange Email Administrator.
- One-year SharePoint administration experience.
- Advanced knowledge of current collaboration tools available to the Executive branch including Forms, OneDrive, Planner, Power Apps, Power Automation, Power BI, Streams, and Teams.
Necessary Special Requirements: Ability to obtain and retain an OITS Security and KCJIS clearances are requirement of employment and continued employment.
