Position Summary

Advancia Remediation Services (a federal government contractor) is growing its business and is seeking a Director of Engineering/Marketing that can provide management and multi-layered review / support for Civil Engineering projects and packages. Management and POC for all Client Marketing.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage and conduct Business Development planning for Gov’t and commercial sector work.
  • Provide civil engineering design and analysis in support of design/build projects.
  • Provide civil engineering solutions and analysis in support of the commercial and the Government entity sectors. Manage/coordinate all other engineering disciplines.
  • Engineer, Design, and Support construction for all Civil projects and packages per general requirements or detailed specifications.
  • Develop client marketing strategies by reviewing project solicitations and designs.
  • Understanding of project responsibilities, phases and elements to assist in fulfilling an overall annual production schedule.
  • Determine project specifications by studying product design, customer requirements, and performance standards; completing technical studies; preparing cost estimates and budgets as needed.
  • Determine project estimated schedules by studying project drawings and specifications; calculating time requirements; sequencing scope elements; communicating project expectations; meeting engineering objectives by forecasting engineering requirements.
  • Maintain engineering schedules by monitoring project design progress, coordinating activities/disciplines, resolving problems, and conducting regular review meetings.
  • Control project costs by reviewing/approving design expenditures; administering engineering sub-contracts.
  • Prepare project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends; recommending actions.
  • Maintain project marketing data base by writing computer programs; entering and backing up data.
  • Achieve operational objectives by contributing engineering information and recommendations; preparing and completing action plans; performing risk analysis; determining administrative system improvements; implementing changes.
  • Plan estimating foresight with determining project construction completion rates; selecting future projects; establishing estimated net margins; selecting scope performance within the construction team’s professional skill set.
  • Complete projects with oversight/review of installations as required; resolving design issues.
  • Maintain safe and healthy work environment by establishing directives to follow, enforcing standards and procedures, complying with codes and legal regulations.
  • Ensure product and company reputation by complying with federal and state regulations.
  • Update job knowledge by remaining current on codes and requirements; participating in continuing educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Project Management, or associated discipline, or equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Minimum 15 years Field Engineering/QAQC and Project Management experience.
  • Broad understanding of Federal Contract requirements, SBA 8 (a) regulations, skilled in communication/sales for marketing contracting officers and clients.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software, with advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience in; Analysis and Design, Project Management, Manufacturing Methods and Procedures, Process Improvement, Technical Understanding, Documentation Management/Control, Safety Management, Supervision, AutoCAD Circuit Design, Capability to develop and read PLC and HMI code, Protection Relay systems knowledge and programming.
  • Ability to work extended work schedules as required supporting the project execution plans and schedules.
  • U.S. Government contracting experience a plus.
  • Extensive travel and at times at a moment’s notice; international travel a must.
  • Able to meet security clearance requirements.
  • Required to obtain military base passes from time to time both temporary and project duration sensitive
