The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is seeking an Applications Development Analyst C - Advanced to join its team in Tallahassee, FL. This role involves developing, enhancing, and maintaining custom software applications while working in a collaborative, Agile environment.
Mandatory Qualifications
Candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Residency Requirement: Must live in or be willing to relocate to Tallahassee, FL. This is an onsite role with no long-term remote work option.
- Education: Bachelor s or Master s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Experience:
- 5+ years as a lead developer.
- 8+ years of broad experience with development technologies, including:
- Microsoft .NET (C#), ASP.NET/MVC, WCF/WebAPI
- SQL Server, REST, XML, JSON
- JavaScript frameworks (Angular, Durandal, Knockout, etc.)
- Python, GIS Frameworks, and CSS
- Experience in full lifecycle application development, including architecture, coding, testing, and deployment.
- Strong skills in legacy application modernization and migration to service-oriented architectures.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, SAFe, DAD).
- Strong knowledge of design patterns, performance optimization, and troubleshooting strategies.
- Experience working with cloud-based platforms like Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services (AWS).
- Experience leading technical teams in delivering enterprise applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a senior developer on cross-functional application projects.
- Design and implement scalable, high-performance applications that align with FDOT s technology strategy.
- Ensure code quality, efficiency, and maintainability through unit testing and best practices.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Provide guidance on application architecture, modernization, and integration.
Work Environment & Schedule
