Data-Core Systems Inc. is seeking a Cisco Wireless Engineer to be a part of our Consulting team. You will participate and effectively contribute to the design, development, and implementation of complex applications, often using new technologies. You will provide technical expertise and systems design for individual initiatives. You will have an opportunity to work with other SME consultants from our existing team.

Core Competencies and Skills

  • Cisco Wireless Technologies: Deep understanding of Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers (WLCs), Access Points (APs), and associated technologies (e.g., RF management, mobility, security).
  • Wireless Protocols: Proficiency in IEEE 802.11 standards (a/b/g/n/ac/ax), Wi-Fi Alliance certifications (e.g., Wi-Fi CERTIFIED), and their applications.
  • Network Design and Implementation: Ability to design, plan, and implement complex wireless networks, including site surveys, RF planning, and AP placement.
  • Troubleshooting and Optimization: Expertise in diagnosing and resolving wireless network issues, optimizing performance (e.g., RF interference, channel utilization, roaming), and ensuring high availability.
  • Security: Knowledge of wireless security best practices, including WPA/WPA2(3) encryption, and guest access.
  • Automation and Orchestration: Familiarity with network automation tools and orchestration platforms (e.g., Cisco DNA Center) for efficient network management.
