We are seeking a skilled and motivated Data Center Administrator/Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in managing, maintaining, and optimizing our data center infrastructure. This role requires a strong foundation in virtualization, Cisco hardware, Nutanix, HCI, HyperFlex, CI/CD practices, and expertise in backup and disaster recovery solutions such as Cohesity. Your work will ensure the high availability, scalability, and resilience of our IT operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Center Operations: Manage day-to-day operations of the data center, including server provisioning, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
- Virtualization: Design, implement, and maintain virtualization solutions (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) to support infrastructure needs.
- Hyperconverged Infrastructure (HCI): Deploy, configure, and maintain HCI solutions such as Nutanix and Cisco HyperFlex to enhance data center scalability and performance.
- Backup and Disaster Recovery (DR): Design, implement, and manage backup and DR solutions, with a focus on Cohesity, ensuring data integrity and rapid recovery capabilities.
- Network Infrastructure: Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot Cisco UCS hardware, including compute, storage and network components, to ensure optimal performance.
- CI/CD Integration: Collaborate with development and DevOps teams to implement and manage CI/CD pipelines, enabling seamless deployment and automation.
- Capacity Planning: Analyze system performance and recommend upgrades or changes to meet current and future needs.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of configurations, processes, and procedures to ensure knowledge sharing and compliance.
- Security & Compliance: Ensure the data center adheres to security and compliance standards, including implementing patches and updates.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to support infrastructure-related projects and resolve issues promptly.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in data center administration or engineering. (Must have)
- Hands-on experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., Nutanix AHV, VMware). (Must have)
- Proven experience with Cisco hardware (HyperFlex, UCS, Fiber Interconnect). (Must have)
- Strong knowledge of Nutanix HCI and Cisco HyperFlex solutions. (Must have)
- Expertise in backup and disaster recovery, with proficiency in Cohesity. (Good to have)
- Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of networking protocols and concepts (e.g., TCP/IP, VLANs, OSPF). (Must have)
- Proficiency in scripting and automation (e.g., PowerShell, Python). (Good to have)
- Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, SolarWinds). (Good to have)
- Knowledge of hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) and its implementation best practices. (Must have)
- Expertise in backup strategies, DR testing, and restoring mission-critical data. (Good to have)
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. (Must have)
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities. (Must have)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities. (Must have)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, VMware Certified Professional (VCP), Nutanix Certified Professional (NCP), or Cohesity certifications.
- Experience with cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
- Knowledge of advanced storage solutions and enterprise-level backup tools
