Overall Purpose
This senior individual contributor role is responsible for solving enterprise-wide engineering challenges, delivering hands-on coding, and fully owning large-scale initiatives. The position reports directly to the Pillar General Manager and the CTO.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead complex, cross-functional projects and drive best practices in architecture and technology for enterprise systems.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Architecture, and Security teams, and potentially external partners.
  • Foster excellence within the Engineering team, providing leadership, mentoring, and coaching to support high-performance efforts.
  • Deliver incremental value by shipping solutions quickly and avoiding big bang deployments.
  • Resolve critical issues with hands-on coding and develop scalable solutions by working with Data, Architecture, and Operations teams.
  • Ensure software development adheres to quality guidelines, CI/CD practices, and security standards.
  • Keep executive leadership informed of progress, balancing technical decisions with business judgment.
  • Maintain the highest standards of system and data security, supporting the company s risk management goals.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 15+ years of software engineering experience, with a proven record of mentoring and leading large-scale projects.
  • 5+ years working with cloud-based systems, containerization, CI/CD, and automated testing.
  • Recognized technical expert through published works, patents, or industry engagements.
  • Demonstrated leadership in large-scale system designs, upgrades, and releases.
  • Expertise in scalable, distributed applications in cloud environments.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills with the ability to work across teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master s degree or additional relevant education.
  • Industry content or speaking engagements.
  • Experience with scaling operations in AWS and migrating services to the cloud.
  • Deep expertise in full-stack development, distributed systems, or global networks.
