Senior .NET Developer
A government agency is seeking a full-time Senior .NET Developer to lead the modernization and enhancement of a critical internal application. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to transform business requirements into technical designs, implement enterprise solutions, and ensure data security. This role requires extensive experience in ASP.NET MVC, C#, unit testing, and front-end technologies. Familiarity with law enforcement or criminal justice systems is preferred. The position offers a hybrid work schedule, with on-site work required on Mondays and Tuesdays, and remote work on Wednesdays through Fridays.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with planning managers, architects, business analysts, quality assurance analysts, and agencies to define and transform business requirements into technical designs and programming specifications.
- Implement enterprise solutions following established patterns in application development and data security.
- Develop, deploy, and test software applications and modules using automated testing and deployment tools.
- Identify and propose appropriate technical solutions that meet business objectives, including defining technical alternatives to derive cost-effective solutions.
- Review test cases and plans in collaboration with quality assurance staff.
- Execute unit and integration testing procedures.
- Clearly communicate complex technical concepts and introduce new technological tools or methods.
- Establish strong business partnerships with team members and stakeholders.
- Provide knowledge transfer and training on application integration.
Required Skills:
- Seven years of experience developing ASP.NET MVC applications with C#.
- Five years of experience with unit testing frameworks (e.g., NUnit).
- Proficiency in HTML/CSS and JavaScript.
- Experience with Entity Framework and writing T-SQL for MS SQL Server.
- Experience within an Agile Scrum development team.
- Experience developing Windows Services using .NET 4.0 or above.
- Knowledge of XML schemas, XSLT, REST/SOAP web services, and Web API.
- Experience with DevOps practices, including automation for CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with front-end JavaScript libraries, especially Bootstrap 4/5 and jQuery.
- Understanding of Domain-Driven Design concepts.
- Experience working with law enforcement or criminal justice systems is a plus.
