Network Engineer

Role:

• Oversee the management of Cisco firewalls, routers, Ethernet switches, and SAN switches.
• Administer Palo Alto firewalls, including log reviews and troubleshooting connectivity issues.
• Manage Cisco Call Manager and associated applications, ensuring seamless Webex integration.
• Resolve connectivity challenges related to LAN, VoIP, and circuits.
• Perform installations and upgrades of equipment outside of standard business hours.
• Handle various voice, network, and security systems.
• Collaborate with IT personnel and end users to address and resolve technical issues.
• Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Computer/Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• A minimum of 4 years of relevant industry experience.
• Proven experience in implementing and supporting diverse network technologies, particularly Cisco and Palo Alto, within a multidisciplinary team environment.
• Familiarity with telecommunications for installation and circuit troubleshooting.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and experience working with vendor support to effectively resolve technical issues.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of engaging with end users to fully understand their concerns and requirements.
• Strong organizational skills and a knack for documentation, with the ability to work independently to solve problems and manage time effectively.
• (Preferred) Experience with Cisco Identity Services Engine, Multi-Factor Authentication, SAML, Mobile Device Management, and cloud services, especially AWS.
• (Preferred) Understanding of how network systems interact with other IT infrastructures.
• (Preferred) Previous experience in a Managed Services Provider (MSP) or within a financial institution.
