The John Michael Kohler Arts Center, a nationally acclaimed visual and performing arts complex located in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, is seeking a Seasonal Cafe Associate for the summer.
Position Summary:
The purpose of this role is to provide patrons with a positive memorable experience while viewing the galleries, learning about artists, shopping, and enjoying food and beverage. The Café Associate is responsible for providing outstanding customer service to our patrons and will also assist with working in our Culinary Art Car for on and offsite events. This position reports to the Café Administrator.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities include the following:

Specific vision abilities when performing this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Able to read and interpret documents, write routine correspondence, speak effectively with others. Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers. Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Able to deal with problems involving few concrete variables in standard situations.

The position is office/art gallery based and noise level usually moderate. May occasionally work inside or outside at events where noise level could be moderate to loud. The position works at various locations depending on schedule, including working in the Culinary Art Car. All are within Sheboygan or Kohler. This position must be able to commute between locations if needed.
Hours of work include daytime hours Tuesday through Friday and frequently evenings, weekends, and holidays.

- Ensure all dishes, utensils, and kitchen supplies are clean and put away.
- Receive and put away food, beverage, and paper deliveries.
- Assist with Café catering – group tours, internal parties, and Culinary Art Car.
- Promote the Arts Center with knowledge of programming and exhibitions; other duties as assigned.
- Customer service skills
- Ability to complete tasks

- Knowledge of artists and programming
- Confidentiality
- 1+ year of customer service experience and interaction
- 6+ months experience with POS System, preferred
- Valid Driver’s License
