Position Summary

As a BSA Analyst III, you will be responsible for conducting thorough reviews, investigations, and analysis of financial transactions to detect potential suspicious activity, ensuring the company's compliance with federal and state regulatory requirements. You will also contribute to the development and enhancement of the BSA/AML compliance program and work closely with internal teams to implement appropriate risk mitigation strategies.

(In Office) Monday - Friday 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth reviews and investigations of flagged transactions, focusing on identifying potential money laundering and other suspicious activities.
  • Perform transaction monitoring using automated tools and review alerts for suspicious activity.
  • Prepare detailed Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) and ensure they are filed with the appropriate regulatory authorities in a timely manner.
  • Prepare, review, and file Currency Transaction Reports (CTRs) in compliance with regulatory requirements, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Analyze and interpret customer financial data to detect patterns or anomalies that may suggest illicit activity.
  • Collaborate with legal, compliance, and senior management to address any significant or complex cases of suspected fraud, money laundering, or terrorist financing.
  • Conduct enhanced due diligence (EDD) reviews on high-risk customers and maintain accurate customer profiles.
  • Stay current on BSA/AML regulations, guidelines, and industry best practices to ensure that all activities comply with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Assist in internal audits and regulatory examinations, ensuring all required documents and reports are available.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting or similar preferred OR equivalent education (high school diploma minimum) and experience.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in BSA/AML compliance, financial crime, or a related field, with a deep understanding of regulatory requirements preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations, and other relevant financial crime prevention laws.
  • Experience with transaction monitoring systems and case management tools (Jack Henry & Verafin preferred)
  • Excellent analytical and investigative skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present findings clearly and concisely to senior management and regulators.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment and mentor junior team members.
  • High level of integrity and the ability to maintain confidentiality in sensitive matters.
