General Description

The Student Development Center Program Manager provides daily on-site management of a large after-school Health and Wellness program for students in grades 4-12 from across the district. The Project Specialist plays a vital role in the daily operations of this active program overseeing and supporting training staff and students.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Two years previous experience in Health and Wellness focused after school programs for students in grades 4-12
  • Proficient in speaking and understanding 2 or more languages
  • One to three years of experience with on-line time management and appointment systems such as Appointy Scheduling system
  • Demonstrated ability to manage student data including creating summary reports with demographics, school assignments, and activity-specific information
  • Knowledge of Social-emotional learning strategies and supports for students in grades 4-12
  • Demonstrated ability to role model de-escalation strategies for dysregulated students and maintain a calm, peaceful environment for all program participants

Desired Qualifications

  • Associates degree or higher (60 credits) in a related field or closely related experience.
  • Must be accurate, efficient, and detail oriented, and have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a variety of students, health and wellness trainers, and community partners
  • Must have strong communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with a diverse group of students, adults, and community partners.
  • Able to manage program staff schedules, time sheets, and training opportunities while developing a cohesive, collaborative team

Job Responsibilities

  • On-site management of large after-school Health and Wellness program with up to 200 students per day
  • Ensure staff compliance with all district and program policies and procedures to ensure health and safety of all program participants
  • Manage Appointy enrollment system ensuring program offerings are correct and accessible
  • Prepare and distribute summary data reports to support program development
  • Monitor daily attendance and submit time sheets for all Program employees
  • Develop strategies to ensure cooperative, collaborative team function including team meetings, professional development, and team training.
  • Develop and implement a student recruitment plan for grades 4-12 district-wide including school visits, school events, and community advertisement
  • Work collaboratively with district partners such as public safety, Office of School Culture, ABM, and others to ensure student safety and appropriate facility maintenance
  • Maintain program staff records regarding attendance, training, and CPR/AED certification
  • Work collaboratively with the Athletic Department to provide opportunities for training and development with district sports teams and ensure excellence in hosting athletic events at the Fieldhouse.
  • Develop positive relationships with community partners to access services and supports for the program
  • Assist in on-going development of SEL competency among program staff
  • Other duties as assigned
