Emily’s Entourage (EE) is seeking an experienced, freelance Social Media and Digital Marketing Coordinator to create and manage compelling social media content, drive meaningful engagement, and elevate brand awareness. In addition, this role will support fundraising efforts through digital marketing initiatives that help expand EE’s reach and further its mission. This position will report to the Director of Marketing and Communications.

Scope of Work: Responsible for delivering the outlined tasks while maintaining adherence to EE’s brand guidelines and voice.

Job Type: Hourly/project-based, contract position.

Hours and Location: 10 hours per week. This is a remote position.

Salary Range: $25-30/hour

Responsibilities

Social Media Content Development and Management

  • Propose, create, and execute a comprehensive monthly content calendar for EE’s social media platforms, ensuring content aligns with the brand’s voice, strategic pillars/goals, and drives engagement, growth, and support for fundraising initiatives.
  • Develop engaging multimedia content, including graphics, video edits (for Instagram and Facebook Reels, YouTube Shorts, TikToks), and copywriting, optimized for each platform (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Youtube, TikTok).
  • Schedule and manage social media posts across platforms, optimizing content for each platform’s specific requirements to maximize impact and engagement.
  • Stay updated on social media trends, including emerging tools, tactics, and strategies to boost reach, engagement, and impact, and recommend these trends/tools to the Director of Marketing and Communications for incorporation into content developed for EE.
  • Help manage influencer/collaborative partner marketing efforts, including identifying and recommending influencer relationship opportunities and supporting the development and management of content created in collaboration with these partners.
  • Measure, evaluate, and report on the performance of both organic and paid social media efforts, using insights to adjust strategy and improve outcomes.

Digital Marketing Support

  • Support additional digital marketing initiatives such as email newsletter formatting, content creation, and distribution.
  • Contribute to other campaigns and marketing efforts as needed, including website content updates and event promotions.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Marketing and Communications and the team to align digital marketing opportunities/strategies with broader organizational goals.

Community Engagement and Management

  • Actively engage with EE’s social media community by responding to comments, direct messages, and resharing relevant content to foster meaningful connections within the CF community, especially the final 10%.
  • Work to grow EE’s digital presence both within the CF community and among the general public, building awareness of the organization’s mission and impact.
  • Develop strategies to engage and retain the support of stakeholders, including individuals and organizations from the broader public audience, to deepen their connection to EE’s work.

Paid Social Media Strategy and Execution

  • Recommend and help execute a paid social media strategy to support fundraising and awareness-building campaigns, in collaboration with the Director of Marketing and Communications.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Marketing and Communications to ensure that paid ads align with EE’s overall goals, messaging, and brand voice.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • BA/BS in Marketing, Communications, English, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in digital marketing or social media management; experience in healthcare, nonprofits, and/or fundraising communications preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey ideas clearly and effectively.
  • A strong passion for storytelling and creativity, with a demonstrated ability to find innovative ways to convey memorable messaging through content development to generate meaningful engagement.
  • A keen interest in staying up-to-date on social media trends and the ability to adapt content to maximize engagement.
  • Basic social media video editing skills (experience with Reels, YouTube Shorts, TikTok, etc.).
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to multitask effectively.
  • Ability to interpret and report on social media KPIs to assess performance and adjust strategy as needed.
  • Proficient graphic design skills (experience with tools like Canva, Photoshop, etc.).
  • Able to work during Eastern business hours (9am to 5pm).

Proficiencies

  • Experience with social media management tools (Sprout Social, Hootsuite, etc.)
  • Proficiency with content creation tools such as Canva, Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Premiere Pro, etc.).
  • Familiarity with Google Drive and collaborative work platforms.
