The Broadcasters Foundation of America (BFOA) is a 501 (c)(3) not for profit organization that provides monthly and emergency grants to broadcasters across the country who are in acute need. The BFOA is seeking a part-time accountant / bookkeeper to facilitate the accounting and finance functions for the organization. The position works under the supervision of the VP Finance for approximately 1 day per week, with possibly more time required during the fiscal year end and during the year-end audit process.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Accounts payable – set up grant recipient and vendor profiles, enter bills, manage the check mailing process
  • Accounts receivable – set up donor and customer profiles, prepare and issue sales invoices, post receipts
  • Prepare Aged Receivable reports on a monthly basis
  • Prepare BFOA event summary sheets for Executive committee and Board meetings
  • events on a monthly basis
  • Maintain other electronic spreadsheets supporting month-end closing process
  • File electronic financial records
  • Work with auditors – generate reports, provide documents, answer inquiries
  • Provide assistance to VP Finance as needed

Job Requirements

  • Associate or college degree in accounting, or comparable work experience as a bookkeeper
  • Current college or graduate school students studying accounting/finance will be considered
  • Moderate Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Office
