POSITION: Quality Manager

Job Summary

The Manufacturing Quality Manager is responsible for ensuring that all products manufactured by Certified PowerTrain meet the highest quality standards. This includes developing and implementing quality control procedures, supporting production processes, and managing a team of quality control inspectors. The Manufacturing Quality Manager works closely with production teams, suppliers, and customers to identify areas for improvement and implement changes to enhance product quality. The Manufacturing Quality Manager reports to the Director of Engineering and Quality.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement ISO 9001: 2015 quality control procedures to ensure that all products meet customer specifications and quality standards
  • Create and maintain control plans for production. Create PPAP’s per customer requirements.
  • Monitor production processes to identify potential quality issues and implement corrective actions
  • Manage a team of quality control inspectors to ensure that all products are thoroughly inspected and meet quality standards before shipment
  • Collaborate with production teams to identify areas for improvement and implement changes to enhance product quality and reduce defects
  • Work closely with suppliers and customers to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions
  • Develop and maintain quality metrics to track and report on product quality and process improvements
  • Conduct regular quality audits to ensure that quality standards are being met and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant quality standards and regulations
  • Provide training and coaching to production teams and quality control inspectors on quality control procedures and best practices
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and regulatory bodies

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as engineering or manufacturing is preferred
  • At least 5 years of experience in a quality management role in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong knowledge of quality control procedures and best practices
  • Experience managing` a team of quality control inspectors
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Experience with ISO 9001 or other quality management systems is preferred

Working Conditions

The Manufacturing Quality Manager typically works in an office environment but frequently spending time on the production floor to monitor quality control processes. The position may require some limited travel to suppliers or customer sites.

Physical Requirements

The Manufacturing Quality Manager may be required to stand or walk for extended periods of time and may need to lift up to 50 pounds.
