We have a 3 month contract opportunity for a Data Governance Specialist. This role is fully remote but must work CST business hours


The Data Governance Specialist understands and makes connections between technical systems and business processes and concepts and assists with importing and connecting metadata assets in the Data Governance platform. This position is in the Data Governance group within Data Delivery and Governance. This individual will work closely with the data governance team that supports our client's ERP transformation initiatives and projects. They will work to understand the business interests and usage of data within each applicable data domain and work with the data governance team to establish a robust metadata repository that illustrates the connections between data in the ERP system and the business processes and concepts. The four groups that are established for the ERP initiative will support Human Resources (HR), Finance, Supply Chain Management (SCM), and Workforce Management (WFM).

responsibilities:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


- Works with customers to clarify and plan for their current and future technology needs.


- Executes on the established data governance framework with limited direction.


- Determines business use cases and understands how data is used within assigned project(s).


- Identifies and defines critical data elements and business terms, linking them together in the data governance platform (Collibra).


- Identifies and recommends code value sets and aligns them with standards.


- Works to implement stewardship approval process for assigned project(s) and translates business needs into workflow diagrams for implementation in the data governance platform (Collibra).


- Performs gap analysis of physical systems of relevant domain or subdomain data, and defines data mapping when necessary.


- Understands high-level data processes and downstream impacts of changes to those processes.


- Coordinates and participates in regularly scheduled and ad hoc Data Steward meetings, forums, work groups, and educational sessions.


- Participates in training and meetings to facilitate the sharing of data across functional areas and understanding of stewardship best practices.


- Collaborates with the Data Quality team and other teams to manage and resolve identified data quality issues.


- Creates and manages visual workflows for their assigned projects, in accordance with the governance framework.


- Writes clear and well-structured business requirements and documentation.


- Communicates and validates requirements with relevant stakeholders.


- Solves moderately complex data governance problems creatively and within the framework.


- Works with stakeholders to define metrics that are impactful for the business.


- Maintains close working relationship with both internal and external data providers and partners.




qualifications:


QUALIFICATIONS:


- Bachelor's degree, preferably in Healthcare, Science, or Technology related major, or other related major, or equivalent work experience.


- Experience working in a healthcare environment preferred.


- Experience working in Data Governance preferred.


- General knowledge of healthcare operations, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) data management, the interrelationship of systems, and how technology enables business processes preferred.


- Basic knowledge of backend database configuration and processes.


- Proficient to advanced Google Suite skills (Docs, Sheets, Slides).
