KORE1, a nationwide provider of staffing and recruiting solutions, has an immediate opening for an Infrastructure Engineer / Admin: networking (Fortigate, switches, etc) + systems (EntraID / AD, VMware eSX, Veeam, etc).
We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to join our team and play a key role in assessing, designing, and maintaining our IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in networking, systems administration, and security, with hands-on experience configuring Fortigate firewalls, managing VLANs, and administering enterprise systems.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct current state analysis of IT infrastructure and provide recommendations for improvements.
- Configure and manage Fortigate firewalls, including designing and maintaining network topology.
- Oversee network administration, including VLAN configuration, Meraki (or similar) switches, and overall network performance optimization.
- Administer and support Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and Entra ID, ensuring security, availability, and performance.
- Manage VMware ESXi environments, including provisioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Implement and maintain Veeam for data protection and disaster recovery planning.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure a secure and efficient IT infrastructure.
- Provide ongoing support, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
Requirements:
- Relevant degree or certifications (such as CCNA, Fortinet NSE, Microsoft, or VMware certifications) are a plus.
- 5+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering & administration.
- Experience with Fortigate firewall configuration and topology design required .
- Strong networking skills, including VLANs, Meraki (or comparable) switches, and overall network management.
- Hands-on experience with Active Directory, Entra ID, Microsoft 365, VMware ESXi, and Veeam.
- Ability to work onsite 4 days per week (Fridays remote) - if/when converted to FTE.
- During the contract you would work 32 hours / week (3 days onsite, 1 day remote).
Compensation depends on experience but is typically $45-57/hr W2. Target salary to convert would be $100-120K plus bonus.
