Job Title: Cybersecurity Policy Lead / Technical Writer

Overview Cybersecurity Policy Lead/Technical Writer as a Policy Lead/Tech Writer you will own the technical documents supporting the Cybersecurity Policies for the (GRC) Governance, Risk and Compliance team. You will be responsible for creating, organizing and maintaining the Cybersecurity Policy documentation. You will work with team members, CISO, BISO Digital and technical staff. You will be responsible for educating users regarding cybersecurity Awareness and keeping the library of cybersecurity policies and standards up to date.
Qualified candidates will not require sponsorship now or in the future to work in the US, will have a 4 year degree and have a portfolio to share at interview request.
What You Bring to the Role. (Ideal Experience)
Other Information:
- Bachelor of Science (BS) or Arts (BA) degree in business, engineering, technical field, or related degree is preferred.
- Four to six (4-6) years of experience writing complete, complex technical documents, including organizing the document and working with internal and external personnel, is required.
- Experience writing documentation and procedure manuals for various audiences.
- Understanding of cybersecurity control frameworks such as NIST CSF, ISO/IEC 27001:2022
- Proven written communication skills and attention to detail
- Understanding of cybersecurity control frameworks such as NIST CSF, ISO/IEC 27001:2022
- Portfolio of technical writing samples for review.
- Intermediate to advanced cybersecurity knowledge
- Technical writing experience in the healthcare industry nice to have
What You'll Do. (Skills Used in this Position)
- Researches, outlines, writes, and edits cybersecurity content, working closely with various teams and departments to understand content requirements.
- Analyzes information required to develop or update policies, standards, procedures, or process documentation to serve as a formal guide to all cybersecurity measures.
- Creates and maintains cybersecurity document templates that adhere to organizational standards to ensure all documentation is managed to professional standards of design and readability.
- Proofreads documents for grammatical, syntactical, and usage errors, spelling, punctuation, and adherence to standards.
- Produces articles, case studies, blogs, white papers, and presentations on the latest cybersecurity incidents, threats, trends, and techniques for employee consumption.
- Develops content in alternative media forms for maximum usability, with a consistent voice across all documentation.
- Determines the clearest and most logical way to present information for greatest reader comprehension.
- Generates innovative ideas for cybersecurity content to ensure audience engagement.
- Develop editorial processes to ensure effective proofreading and project deadline fulfillment.
- Tracks new industry information, guidelines, and best practices as they arise to keep company documentation up to date.
- Assists with preparing documents for compliance audits, cyber security, and vulnerability assessments and contributing to developing the relevant compliance programs.
- Manages tracking and logging of published cybersecurity communications.
- Reviews, edits, and maintain existing documentation, which can become outdated or factually inaccurate over time.
- Gathers information from subject-matter experts and develops, organizes, and writes procedure manuals, technical specifications, and process documentation.
- Works closely with other communications teams, including marketing, internal communications, etc., to ensure consistency and alignment in messaging across the organization.
- Develops and implements standardized templates for various types of documents to ensure consistency in formatting, branding, and quality
