Job Description:

Apex Systems is seeking a Process Engineer responsible for spearheading process improvement initiatives aimed at waste reduction, quality enhancement, and efficiency augmentation. The ideal candidate will lead the development and implementation of Lean Manufacturing processes and tools, conduct comprehensive analyses of existing processes to pinpoint improvement areas, and execute robust process enhancement strategies.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement Lean Manufacturing processes and tools.
  • Analyze current processes to identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop and execute process improvement plans.
  • Monitor process performance metrics to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless implementation of new processes.
  • Generate detailed documentation for all new or modified processes.
  • Uphold a safe working environment by adhering to safety standards.
  • Possess deep expertise in Lean Manufacturing and Kaizen Facilitation (5S, Std Work, SMED, TPM).
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Managing for Daily Improvement (MDI, Lean Mfg Visual Daily Management, Tier 1-4 Boards).
  • Display adeptness in Project Management Office (PMO) methodologies for complex Productivity/OEE Improvement projects.
  • Experience in Automotive Industry (or similar) Quality Systems is advantageous; APQP, PFMEA, Corrective & Preventive Actions, Control Plans, etc.

Requirements:
  • Hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET/EAC accredited University.
  • Possess knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles, techniques, and tools (e.g., Kaizen, 5S, etc.).
  • Demonstrate utmost respect for environmental and individual safety, promoting sustainability and regulatory compliance.
  • Possess a Bachelors degree in engineering (preferred).
  • Accumulate a minimum of 7-10 years' experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Exhibit proficiency in leading diverse projects such as major equipment outages and new equipment/process installations.
  • Capable of facilitating root cause analyses (8-D, 5 Whys) and implementing preventive measures.
  • Proficient in computer skills, including AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Access, with strong attention to detail and excellent communication and analytical skills.
  • Have 3-7+ years of experience in an Industrial Environment with a focus on Engineering & Maintenance.
  • Preferred experience or equivalent in Metal/Materials Processing, Tool & Die.
