Position: Senior EHR Clinical Advisor
Location: Remote
Duration: Contract
Chief medical information officer with experience with Cerner or Oracle Health.

Support the Electronic Health Record Modernization Integration office (EHRM-IO) Project Management Office (PMO) as a Senior Advisor. Serve as a Senior Advisor to the Office of the Functional Champion on matters related to EHR Implementation Best Practices and Strategies, Operational Best Practices and Strategies, Process and Workflow Improvement and Enterprise Standardization. Apply clinical, functional, and technical knowledge of the system to aid VA in achieving its goals related to the deployment of the Cerner EHR. Provide Senior Advisement to the VA EHR Reset Project Lead supporting multiple workstream projects on EHR Program strategies, Clinical Standardization, and EHR design governance. Supports EHRM-IO program leadership with recommendations, advice, and council on matters impacting the EHR product and best practices for implementation and optimization.
Minimum Qualifications:
10+ years of professional work experience
A Health IT Subject Matter Expert establishes strategic direction, policies, and procedures for the organization's informatics and information systems.
Guides the selection, development, and/or implementation of highly complex, technical systems designed to effectively manage clinical information, data and clinical systems in the healthcare or other specialized fields.
Coordinates between IT and clinical staff in order to ensure effective integration of complex systems with other institutional applications.
Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
Provide strategic and tactical guidance across healthcare accounts.
Identifies and develops innovative solutions for the healthcare industry.
Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Leads and directs the work of others.
A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Typically reports to top management.
Ph.D in Healthcare, Computer Engineering or related scientific, technical, or clinical discipline. An additional 15 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education.
