Project Overview:
- The customer is currently focused on ensuring high availability and load balancing for the Remote Desktop Services (RDS) environment.
- The project involves several key steps, including setting up a highly available SQL database for the RDS Connection Broker, adding a third RDS server to handle the load, and verifying the licensing model and any additional costs.
Initiative to enhance their Remote Desktop Services (RDS) environment. The project aims to re-configure the existing RDS setup by adding a dedicated connection broker and an additional session host to support increased capacity and ensure high availability.
The new connection broker and session host will be hosted in the customer's IaaS provider's datacenter and accessed through a VPN connected to the customer's LAN, eliminating the need for a gateway server. Additionally, the session host will act as an app streaming server for two of the customer's primary business applications: Great Plains and Command Alkon.
The project involves collaboration between various teams and requires thorough testing and validation to ensure the setup meets the required standards.
