Job Summary Digital Cloak is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to join our team and assist in evaluating and modernizing our customer's network infrastructure. The Network Engineer will have a strong knowledge of network integration fundamentals in a Microsoft environment. This is largely a planning and advisory role and does not require the employee to provide emergency response on nights or weekends. Essential Functions:
- Advise on and plan modernization efforts for network operations.
- Analyze local and wide area network systems, including planning, designing, evaluating, recommending operating systems and protocol suites, etc.
- Make recommendations to resolve complex interoperability problems.
- Support acquisition of hardware and software as well as subcontractor services as required.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for network processes and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices for network management.
- Monitor and analyze network performance, implementing tuning and optimization strategies.
- Ensure maximum performance and uptime of all network solutions.
- Strong knowledge of network integration fundamentals.
- Experience with VPN solutions, cloud connections, and data center connectivity.
- Ability to advise on and implement network modernization efforts.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- A good grasp on technology and network equipment that will be emerging over the next decade.
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent experience.
- 7 years of demonstrated experience in network engineering and planning.
- Relevant certifications in network engineering and management.
- Experience working with and providing advisory services to senior Government personnel.
- Advanced degree in a related field.
- Additional certifications in advanced network technologies and solutions.
- This position requires the ability to remain in a stationary position (standing and/or seated) more than half the time.
- This position requires the ability to spend more than half the time viewing computer monitors.
- ship is required.
- Active DoD Secret clearance is required with SCI eligibility.
- This is a hybrid position. On-site work will be performed at the customer's facility in Stafford, VA. Employee must live within a 45 minute drive of customer's facility.
- This position has travel requirements up to 10%.
