Job Summary:

The SolarWinds Administrator/Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining SolarWinds monitoring solutions. This role ensures the optimal performance and availability of network and system monitoring tools, provides technical support, and works closely with various teams to enhance monitoring capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and Implementation:

  • Design and deploy SolarWinds monitoring solutions to align with organizational requirements.
  • Configure and customize SolarWinds modules such as Network Performance Monitor (NPM), Server & Application Monitor (SAM), and other related tools.

Maintenance and Support:

  • Conduct regular maintenance, updates, and patches to ensure the SolarWinds environment is secure and up-to-date.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to SolarWinds tools and components.

Monitoring and Reporting:

  • Develop and maintain monitoring dashboards, alerts, and reports to track the health and performance of networks and systems.
  • Analyze monitoring data to identify trends, potential issues, and areas for system improvement.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Collaborate with network, system, and application teams to ensure comprehensive monitoring coverage.
  • Provide training and support to team members on using SolarWinds tools effectively.

Documentation:

  • Create and maintain detailed documentation for the SolarWinds environment, including configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Experience:

  • Proven experience as a SolarWinds Administrator/Engineer or in a similar role.
  • Experience with network and system monitoring tools and technologies.
  • Experience in the government sector, particularly with the Department of Defense, is preferred.

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of SolarWinds products and modules.
  • Proficiency in network and system administration.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
