Job Title: Systems Engineer - III
Summary: The Systems Engineer will apply the principles of computer science and mathematical analysis to the design, development, testing, and evaluation of software and systems that make computers function. The role primarily focuses on analyzing user needs and developing software solutions to meet those requirements.
Job Responsibilities:
- Modify existing databases and database management systems or direct programmers and analysts to implement necessary changes.
- Write and code logical and physical database descriptions and specify identifiers for the database management system or guide others in coding descriptions.
- Collaborate as part of a project team to coordinate database development, assessing project scope and limitations.
- Review project requests that outline database user needs to estimate the time and cost required to achieve the project objectives.
Skills:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and deliver results.
- Basic mentoring skills to offer support and provide constructive performance feedback.
- In-depth knowledge of the full software development lifecycle, including systems analysis, requirements gathering, functional specification authoring, development, testing, and delivery.
- Ability to troubleshoot issues and implement system changes to resolve technical problems.
- Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, electronic equipment, and both computer hardware and software.
- Proficiency in software development across multiple platforms.
Top 3 Must-Have HARD Skills:
- Advanced PowerShell scripting and automation.
- Advanced Windows Server engineering, including configuration management and troubleshooting of complex problems.
- Experience deploying, scaling, and managing on-prem applications.
- Experience with configuration management deployment and authoring, such as Chef (preferred), SCCM, Ansible, Puppet, or similar tools.
- Experience with Microsoft Active Directory Group Policy and troubleshooting, with a strong understanding of Active Directory administration.
- Advanced troubleshooting and engineering with Windows Server, including diagnosing and resolving complex system issues.
- Basic Linux server knowledge.
Good to Have Skills:
- Azure experience, particularly managing applications and conditional access policy.
- Familiarity with SSO (Single Sign-On), application federation, and terminology like SAML/OIDC.
- Advanced Microsoft Active Directory engineering experience in a large, mixed environment.
- Knowledge of authentication protocols such as NTLM, Kerberos, oAuth, and SAML.
- Advanced troubleshooting and engineering skills with Linux Servers.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field is required.
