Job Summary:
A release train engineer (RTE) is a servant leader who facilitates program level processes and execution, drives continuous development, manages risks and escalates impediments while also acting as a full-time chief scrum master for a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) Agile Release Train (ART).

Description: Facilitates, collaborates, and mentors Agile Release Trains (ARTs) on all things SAFe, helping to bring best practices into the organization. Coordinates and coaches teams specific to Scrum, Lean, and Kanban. Provides knowledge and expertise around Lean Agile processes while coaching key roles in the organization to be self-sufficient in day-to-day operations and practices and also coaches for enterprise-wide agile transformation practice standards. Leads large-scale SAFe transformations and complex Agile delivery. Partners with key stakeholders at associate director and director levels to relentlessly improve ART delivery performance in the areas of predictability, flow-through, cycle time, and quality. Partners closely with roles such as Portfolio Leads, Product Management, Product Owners, other Release Train Engineers, and Scrum Masters to establish lean agile routines and practices that include but are not limited to: Kanban management, Scaled Agile Value Stream Mapping, Train Program Increment (PI) planning and execution. Partners with DevOps and Quality Engineering teams on Continuous Integration/Continuous Development, DevOps, and test automation practice maturity.

Relationship and People Management: Helps the team work together efficiently to achieve a common goal. Demonstrates appreciation of the depths of agile practices and principles and helps the teams appreciate them. Teaches and coaches teams in Agile practices while building a culture where Agile teams thrive. Partners with agile coach team to set Agile strategy and articulate the benefits of working in a way that optimizes flexibility and effective delivery. Leads a work environment with a focus on continuous improvement, broad collaboration, and alignment between teams and stakeholders. Aims to both transfer their knowledge and enthuse team members to try new approaches and techniques. Skillfully facilitates group dynamics and communications, regardless of the audience, and ensures that every voice is heard and heeded. Keeps the collective team focused and on track with commitments, sustainable pace, and quality.
Minimum Requirements:
--- Bachelor s degree. In lieu of degree, equivalent industry experience may be considered.
--- Spent 5+ years acting as an Agile Coach or Release Train Engineer in a fast-paced technology-based environment.
--- Current Release Train Engineer 6.0 (SAFe-RTE) certification.
--- Has deep knowledge of Agile principles and the ability to transfer that knowledge to new and evolving environments. Working knowledge of product lifecycle processes and deliverables. Must have deep knowledge of Scaled Agile Framework, Lean, and Product Development Flow principles in their enterprise context.
--- Experience with large-scale software delivery and/or Agile transformation at scale in large enterprise organizations.
--- Willingness to be transparent with everyone regarding team and ART performance, issues faced, and delivery impediments.
--- Believes in and thrives in a culture of collaboration, relentless improvement, and trust across the team.
--- Willingness to report to the office for critical events. This is limited to agreed-upon face-to-face meetings with product and technology leaders.
--- Willingness to work Eastern time zone hours.
--- Experience in coaching and demonstrating facilitation of core agile practices including but not limited to: Kanban, Value stream mapping, Feature and story backlog prioritization and grooming, Release planning (Program Increment), Iteration/Sprint planning, Metrics (at all levels), Story distribution practices including estimation, Agile ceremonies (Scaled agile at all levels).
--- Proficiency using of Microsoft Azure DevOps (ADO) and Atlassian Jira Align tools at the team, ART, and portfolio levels.

Preferred Qualifications:
--- Prefer at least one additional Agile certification such as SAFe SPC6, CSP, PMI-ACP, or similar.
--- Prefer at least one ICAgile coaching certification such as ICP-ACT, ICP-CAT, ICP-ATF, or ICP-ACC
--- Experience in facilitation, training, and public speaking.
