The role of the Manager, Retail Planning is full-time and involves strategic planning, forecasting, and analysis of the Parfum Christian Dior Brick & Mortar business across all product categories.

Job responsibilities

Forecasting & Analysis

  • Develop, maintain, and re-forecast monthly sales plans for assigned categories, aligning with financial guidance and budgets
  • Forecast all new products for boutiques, both sellable & non-sellable, by store by sku, and in line with budgets. Align w/ CAN planner to ensure NAM new launch vision is cohesive.
  • Perform daily, weekly, & monthly review of performance by SKU to optimize inventory levels on sellable & non-sellable
  • Review, analyze, & recap product performance by category, line, and sometimes by SKU to share out w/ corporate & retail teams on a weekly & monthly basis
  • Review and update the weekly sales projection in partnership w/Retail Leadership via Key Account Management File
  • Partner with store design, VM, & marketing to align assortment by SKU, forecasts by SKU, & display planograms for new store openings and seasonal rotations

Inventory Management

  • Develop initial, replenishment, and rebalance strategies to support both new and existing stores, maximizing inventory, sell through, & consumption
  • Monitor replenishment processes in partnership w/ Supply Chain, review inventory levels
  • Prepare new store and new product opening + initial replenishment orders (first 3mos) for all boutiques
  • Closely follow new launch deliveries / availability and raise risks accordingly
  • Partner with retail operations and supply chain teams to ensure inventory tracking is accurate in-store. Support troubleshooting with retail. Support on-the-ground cycle counts where necessary.
  • Track SKUs and quantities cut from orders and work with supply to rebook when available
  • Communicate to Retail teams on new launch deliveries & timelines
  • Be a point of contact for retail teams regarding inventory levels, product feedback, missed opportunities, client requests, etc.
  • Correspond with boutique teams regularly regarding stock and discontinued items
  • Partner with marketing, retail, client, and e-commerce teams to closely track inventory and monitor performance of exceptional products. Support tracking / delivery to client.

Strategic Business Driving

  • Partner with retail, marketing, VM, and store design on assortment strategy for new boutiques
  • Drive 360 launch planning for new products in boutiques in partnership w/ marketing and Dior.com
  • Work with cross functional teams to fuel growth businesses, investigate & drive challenged categories, and raise, investigate, & minimize missed opportunities
  • Regularly update and maintain product launch calendars and retail tools. Build product support tools w/ a retail mindset.

This role will report into the Director, Retail Innovation.

Profile

  • 5+ years of experience of retail product planning, forecasting, and budgeting including new product launch planning, replenishment and stock management. Ideally with experience in beauty and fragrances, vertical retail, D2C, and / or luxury fashion environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to understand and leverage financial reports to drive business
  • Strong understanding and knowledge of leading beauty and fragrance brands
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders across management levels.
  • Maintains composure and remains solutions-oriented even in high pressure, ambiguous situations.
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills. Sense of urgency. Thrives in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, ability to wear multiple hats, being hands-on and in the details, while also being able to zoom out through high level strategy.
  • Client experience focused with an eye for details.
  • Self-starter, ability to take initiative, ownership, and accountability for their work.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire and develop colleagues and/or direct reports. Experience with people management a plus.
  • Passion for the beauty and fragrances industry, competitive landscape & trends.
  • Exceptional computer skills required, including advanced Excel and PowerPoint. Experience building PowerBI dashboards a plus.
  • Experience working with a foreign parent company a plus.
