Position Overview:The Systems Administrator will oversee the design, implementation, and management of IT systems at Bench, focusing on SSO Okta integrations, iPaaS solutions with Workato and Zapier, MDM/RMM deployment using Mosyle and NinjaOne, VDI environments with AWS Workspaces, and Windows Server management with automated policy enforcement via Group Policy Objects (GPOs) and Okta. This role also includes remote asset deployment and management at scale.
This position requires a proactive individual who can deliver immediate impact with minimal oversight, provide scalable solutions, and serve as a senior technical advisor on complex IT challenges. The Systems Administrator will improve and automate infrastructure and applications while developing new technical solutions aligned with Bench’s operations.
What does the IT department look like?The IT team at Bench is a small but highly adaptable group, responsible for maintaining, planning, and executing all IT functions to support daily operations. The team ensures the smooth operation of systems.
Key Responsibilities:SSO and Identity Management:- Design, implement, and manage Single Sign-On (SSO) solutions using Okta.
- Develop and enforce governance policies to ensure secure and efficient access management.
- Collaborate with application owners to integrate new and existing applications into the SSO framework.
- Utilize Workato and Zapier to develop and manage integrations between various cloud and on-premises applications.
- Automate workflows to enhance operational efficiency and data accuracy.
- Monitor and maintain integration solutions to ensure reliability and performance.
- Deploy and manage MDM/RMM solutions using Mosyle, NinjaOne or similar platforms to oversee a fleet of managed assets.
- Implement zero-touch deployment models to streamline device provisioning and configuration.
- Ensure compliance with security policies and manage device lifecycle processes.
- Design and manage VDI environments utilizing AWS Workspaces to support remote work initiatives.
- Optimize VDI performance and scalability to meet organizational needs.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to virtual desktop deployments.
- Manage and maintain Windows Server environments, ensuring optimal performance and security.
- Automate policy enforcement using Group Policy Objects (GPOs) to streamline administrative tasks.
- Integrate Okta with Active Directory to enhance authentication and access control mechanisms.
- Develop and implement strategies for the efficient deployment and management of remote assets at scale.
- Utilize remote asset management tools to monitor and maintain IT assets across various locations.
- Ensure remote assets are compliant with organizational policies and security standards.
- Serve as a senior technical advisor, providing expertise on complex IT challenges and projects.
- Develop scalable solutions that address current needs while minimizing technical debt.
- Conduct security risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and implement mitigation strategies.
- Align systems and processes with SOC 2 framework requirements and other relevant security practices to ensure compliance and data protection.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and best practices to continually enhance the IT infrastructure.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in systems administration or a similar role.
- Proven expertise in Okta SSO integrations and governance.
- Hands-on experience with iPaaS solutions, particularly Workato and Zapier.
- Proficiency in deploying and managing MDM solutions, especially Mosyle.
- Experience with VDI environments, specifically AWS Workspaces.
- Strong understanding of network protocols, security principles, and best practices.
- Proficiency in programming and scripting languages, including C++, PowerShell, Bash, and Ruby.
- Demonstrated ability to manage Windows Server environments and automate policies using Group Policy Objects (GPOs) and manage users via Okta AD Agent.
- Experience in aligning systems and processes with SOC 2 framework requirements or related security practices.
- Proven ability to build, deploy, and manage remote assets at scale.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the capacity to analyze complex issues, communicate them effectively, and implement impactful solutions.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Okta Certified Administrator or higher.
- Certifications in relevant iPaaS platforms (e.g., Workato Automation Pro).
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect or AWS Certified SysOps Administrator.
