Job Description

UES is looking for a dedicated and highly motivated Staff Geologist to join our Environmental team. This position offers a balance of in-office task management and hands-on fieldwork, with significant opportunities for professional growth into project management roles. If you have 1-3 years of experience in environmental soil and groundwater investigations and technical report writing, we encourage you to apply.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Conduct field activities for soil and groundwater investigation and remediation projects.
  • Perform environmental investigations, collect environmental data, and support environmental site assessments.
  • Assist Senior Geologists with project execution and planning.
  • Plan and manage soil and groundwater investigation activities.
  • Analyze and interpret field data, creating detailed summaries.
  • Write comprehensive technical reports for clients and stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Geology or a related science field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in environmental consulting, including technical report writing.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 40 pounds.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50-75%, which may include occasional overnight travel.
  • Comfortable working in various outdoor site conditions and project locations.
  • Ability to pass a workplace physical, drug screening, and background check.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with contractors, clients, regulatory personnel, and team members.
  • Proficiency in technical writing and data interpretation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Geoscientist-In-Training (GIT) or Professional Geoscientist (PG) license.
  • 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training or equivalent.
