We are seeking a Legal Secretary, Litigation, for our client's Honolulu office. This role will provide essential litigation and administrative support to three to four lawyers in a dynamic and collaborative work environment. Strong litigation skills are essential for this position.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage litigation and administrative tasks, including court filings (state and federal, including e-filings), document creation, editing, and preparation, filing, time entry, expense reimbursement processing, telephone calls, travel arrangements, calendar maintenance, and mailing distributions.
  • Maintain proficiency with local court rules.
  • Manage lawyers’ contacts lists in Outlook.
  • Engage in client contact both in person and over the phone.
  • Handle confidential and sensitive firm and/or client information.
  • Perform ongoing and ad hoc duties as assigned to meet position requirements.
  • Fulfill other duties as necessary.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5+ years of recent litigation secretarial experience in a mid- to large-size law firm.
  • College degree preferred.
  • Familiarity with local court rules is required.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to prioritize, work independently, and multitask effectively.
  • Ability to thrive in a high-volume environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written).
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Word and Outlook; strong typing skills and ability to quickly learn new software programs.
  • Knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and manage shifting priorities.
  • Capability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Dedication to delivering high-quality client service.
  • Flexibility for overtime and occasional shift changes.
