Provide culturally informed and affirming brief, focused, individual counseling, group therapy and workshops, initial consultations, and crisis assessment and intervention to a diverse student population. Bring expertise and experience in working with students from marginalized communities to role as a trainer and clinical supervisor in a training program that includes practicum counselors, an American Psychological Association-accredited doctoral internship, and post-doctoral psychology residents. Provide outreach presentations and activities tailored to the specific mental health needs of students from historically excluded groups. Build effective, collaborative relationships with offices and colleagues on campus dedicated to supporting marginalized students. Provide professional consultation grounded in multicultural expertise and experience to WSU faculty, staff, and students regarding student behavior, mental health, and academic challenges in order to enhance an inclusive campus climate for student success.
This is a full time (100% FTE), permanent position. Overtime eligibility will be determined based on final salary placement.
Monthly Salary:
Commensurate with experience and qualifications
Therapist: $5,658 - $7,595
Psychologist: $5,976 - $7,899
In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.

- Positions require a master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, or related field and the ability to become independently licensed as a mental health professional in the State of Washington within one (1) year of employment.
- Ability to become independently licensed as a mental health professional in the State of Washington within 1 year of hire.
- Excellent generalist clinical skills and experience providing brief, focused counseling services.
- Experience working with “high risk” difficulties (e.g. suicide, eating disorders, substance abuse, PTSD)
- Experience and commitment to providing services to diverse student populations including, but not limited to, BIPOC students, LGBTQ+ students, undocumented, migrant, and immigrant students, international students, and veterans.
- Demonstrated experience working with students from marginalized communities, in clinical work and in outreach/other programming.
- Experience providing clinical services to young adults in an outpatient setting.
- A doctoral degree in Psychology, or equivalent including completion of pre-doctoralinternship.
- Eligibility for licensure as a Psychologist in Washington State within one year.
- Excellent generalist clinical skills and experience providing brief, focused counseling services.
- Experience working with high risk individuals (e.g. suicide, eating disorders, substanceabuse, PTSD) providing risk assessment and crisis appointments.
